Privacy policy
Last updated October 27, 2026
Pew & Page ("we") makes church photo directories. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. It covers pewandpage.com, the church office app, the family form, the online directory and the order pages.
Information about families
When a family adds itself to their church's directory (or the church office adds them), we keep: names; optionally birthdays (month and day), an anniversary, ways they serve; address, phone numbers and email; a family photo; and their choices about what's shown. We use it only to make that church's directory: the printed book, the online directory, and emails about the directory (for example, the family's link to change their entry, and a note when the directory is ready to order).
Each family chooses whether their address, phone numbers and email are shown in the directory or kept for the church office only. "Church office only" details are never printed or shown in the online directory.
Information about church staff and helpers
We keep the names, roles and email addresses of people who manage a church's directory, and a log of changes they make.
Information about orders
When someone orders a printed copy, we keep their name, email, the order, and for mailed copies the shipping address. Card details go directly to our payment processor; we never see or store card numbers.
Who sees what
- The church's directory helpers can see and edit their church's entries.
- Members who order a printed copy receive the printed directory.
- The online directory is available only to people whose email address is in that church's directory, after signing in with an emailed link.
- We share information only with the services that run Pew & Page, only as needed: secure hosting, email delivery, our printing partner (which receives the finished book and shipping addresses) and our payment processor.
We never sell information, never use it for advertising, and our site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in.
Photos
Uploaded photos are re-saved without their hidden details (such as the location where they were taken). Family photos are never posted publicly; they're shown only to signed-in people for that church, and printed in its directory. The one exception is the cover photo the church chooses (usually its building), which also appears on the page where copies are ordered. The sample directory on our site uses made-up families with AI-generated photos.
How we protect information
All connections use HTTPS. Families' contact details are encrypted where we store them. Sign-in uses one-time email links instead of passwords. Access to the church office app is limited to the people the church invites.
How long we keep it
- A family's entry is kept until the family or their church removes it, or the church deletes its directory. Deleting removes the details and photo from the service right away. We keep backups for recovering from failures, and deleted information can remain in a backup until that backup is replaced.
- Order records (name, email, what was ordered and when) are kept for seven years for accounting and tax purposes. A shipping address is removed once your copy has shipped.
- Copies of the directory that were already printed and delivered can't be recalled.
Churches we contact
We sometimes send a church one short introductory email, using a contact address the church has published on its own website. Each email includes a one-click link to stop hearing from us, and we keep that address on a do-not-contact list so we never email it again.
Children
Pew & Page is meant to be used by adults. Children may appear in a family's entry only when added by a parent or guardian or by the church office; parents choose whether to include children's names and photos.
Your choices
Families can change or remove their entry any time with their private link or through their church office. Anyone can ask us to access, correct or delete their information by writing to hello@pewandpage.com.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update this page and tell church administrators by email before the change takes effect.
